What size are your business cards?

The standard UK size: 85 × 55mm. You can print them landscape or portrait. For portrait, set your artwork up at 55 × 85mm plus 3mm bleed.

How many business cards can I order?

Accepted Answer

From 50 up to 50,000, depending on the card. 450gsm silk starts at 250 cards. The price per card drops as the quantity goes up, so it's worth checking the next quantity up in the price table.

Which card should I choose?

Accepted Answer

450gsm silk is our thickest and most popular choice. It feels solid and premium in the hand. 350gsm silk is a great all-rounder at a lower price. 300gsm uncoated has a natural, smooth feel and is easy to write on, which suits appointment cards. 350gsm recycled is the eco-friendly option.

Matt, gloss or soft touch: which lamination is best?

Accepted Answer

Matt gives a smooth, glare-free finish and is the classic choice. Gloss makes colours pop with a high shine. Soft touch has a velvety feel that people notice the moment they pick the card up. All three protect against scuffs and moisture. Lamination is available on our silk cards.

What is spot UV?

Accepted Answer

Spot UV is a clear, glossy varnish printed on just part of your card, like your logo or name. Against a matt background it catches the light and you can feel it under your finger. It's available on 350gsm silk card with matt lamination and square corners, one design per order, on the front only or front and back. Pick it in the spec above and we'll set the rest for you.

Can I have rounded corners?

Yes. Choose rounded corners in the spec above and all four corners are cut to a 6mm radius. Download the rounded-corner template to check nothing important sits too close to the curve.

Can I print on both sides?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Choose single or double sided in the spec above. The back is a good place for your logo, a QR code, your services or a map.

Question 8

Can I order cards for several people at once?

Accepted Answer

Yes, up to 64 designs per order. Set 'Different designs' in the spec and you'll get the chosen quantity of each design, all on the same card and finish. Send one PDF with every design in order: card 1 front, card 1 back, card 2 front, card 2 back, and so on.

What file should I send?

Accepted Answer

A print-ready PDF in CMYK, at 300dpi, sized 91 × 61mm (85 × 55mm plus 3mm bleed), with fonts embedded or outlined. Keep text 3mm inside the edge. We also accept JPG and PNG. You can download PDF, Illustrator and InDesign templates in the Artwork step above.

Question 10

Why do my colours look different in print?

Accepted Answer

Screens show colour in RGB light, while printers use CMYK ink, so bright screen colours can print slightly duller. Setting your artwork up in CMYK from the start gives you the most accurate preview.

Will you check my artwork?

Accepted Answer

Yes. File Check is free and selected by default: our prepress team run 60 checks on resolution, bleed, safe area, orientation and more, and contact you if anything needs fixing. If you'd rather we fixed the problems for you, choose File Assist. We'll resize, add bleed, fix fonts and correct the layout for a flat fee. Nothing goes to print until the artwork is right.

Can I send my artwork later?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Tick the option to email your artwork in the Artwork step and send it over when it's ready. Production starts once we have it.
