Question 1

What is a folded leaflet?

Accepted Answer

A printed sheet folded into panels, so you can say more than a flat flyer while staying compact and easy to hand out.

Question 2

Flyer, leaflet or booklet: what's the difference?

Accepted Answer

A flyer is a flat sheet. A leaflet is folded, giving you several panels. A booklet is stapled pages, for when you have a lot to say.

Question 3

Which fold should I choose?

Accepted Answer

A half fold (A4 to A5) gives four simple pages. A tri fold, either roll or Z, turns A4 into a DL leaflet that fits envelopes and display racks. Gate folds open from the middle and suit invitations and menus. Cross folds and double parallel folds pack lots of panels into a small size.

Question 4

Do they arrive folded?

Accepted Answer

Yes. They're delivered folded and ready to hand out, including tri-fold A4 leaflets.

Question 5

Which paper should I choose?

Accepted Answer

130gsm gloss or silk is the popular choice and folds cleanly. 170gsm feels more substantial. Uncoated paper can be written on, which is handy for forms and order sheets. The papers on offer depend on the fold: if you pick one that doesn't match, we'll switch it and tell you.

Question 6

Will colour crack along the fold?

Accepted Answer

Strong colour or backgrounds running across a fold can crack slightly. Heavier papers are creased before folding to keep this to a minimum.

Question 7

How do I set up my artwork?

Accepted Answer

Supply one 2-page PDF at the flat size with 3mm bleed. Page 1 is the outside and page 2 the inside. For an A4 folded to A5, page 1 holds pages 4 and 1, and page 2 holds pages 2 and 3. For landscape folds, the back page sits next to the front page, rotated 180°.

Question 8

What are folded leaflets used for?

Accepted Answer

Brochures, restaurant and takeaway menus, price lists, maps, event programmes, instructions and direct mail: anything that needs more room than a flyer but not a full booklet.

Question 9

Can I send them to more than one address?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Place a separate order for each address.

Question 10

Will you check my artwork?

Accepted Answer

Yes. File Check is free and selected by default: our prepress team check panel order, size, bleed, resolution and more, and contact you if anything needs fixing. If you'd rather we fixed the problems for you, choose File Assist. We'll resize, fix fonts and correct the layout for a flat fee. Nothing goes to print until the artwork is right.

Question 11

Can I send my artwork later?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Tick the option to email your artwork in the Artwork step and send it over when it's ready. Production starts once we have it.

Question 12

How long will my order take?

Accepted Answer

Choose Saver, Standard or Express in the price table. The estimated delivery date for each speed is shown at the top of its column and updates for the quantity you pick. UK mainland delivery is included.
