What is a letterhead and why do I need one?

It's headed paper printed with your logo, brand colours and contact details, used for letters, invoices, contracts and official documents. It makes every page look consistent and professional and builds trust with clients.

Which paper weight should I choose?

Most UK letterheads are 90gsm to 120gsm. 90gsm suits everyday letters. 120gsm feels more substantial and is best for double-sided designs, as the heavier paper stops ink showing through. 170gsm is for something special.

Question 3

What size are they?

A4 (210 × 297mm). That fits UK envelopes and folds neatly into three for a DL envelope.

Will they go through my office printer?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The uncoated paper takes laser and inkjet printing. 90gsm and 120gsm feed best; use 170gsm with a printer that has a heavier paper setting.

Question 5

Do letterheads need bleed?

Accepted Answer

Yes, 3mm on every edge. It stops white edges appearing after trimming, especially if your design has a background colour or graphic running to the edge.

Will you check my artwork?

Accepted Answer

Yes. File Check is free and selected by default: our prepress team check resolution, colour mode, bleed and fonts, and contact you if anything needs fixing. If you'd rather we fixed the problems for you, choose File Assist. We'll resize, fix fonts and correct the layout for a flat fee. Nothing goes to print until the artwork is right.

Can I send my artwork later?

Yes. Tick the option to email your artwork in the Artwork step and send it over when it's ready. Production starts once we have it.

How long will my order take? Is delivery included?

Accepted Answer

Choose Saver, Standard or Express in the price table. The estimated delivery date for each speed is shown at the top of its column. Delivery to the UK mainland is included.
